The Beautiful Key Biscayne Community

The Beautiful Key Biscayne Community

Key Biscayne is a beautiful community island located just south of Downtown Miami and north of Coconut Grove. With 83 non-waterfront homes, 128 waterfront homes, and 158 condominiums’, the neighborhood is great for all personalities. The island is secluded and very exclusive, with only one way in, via the Rickenbracker Causeway. The scenery on this isle is legendary as well as a great tourist destination. There are a variety of small boutiques and fresh seafood restaurants allowing visitors and residents to experience the culinary cuisines that Key Biscayne is known for.

In 1947 when the four-mile Rickenbacker Causeway opened, residential development on Key Biscayne sped up exponentially. During the first half of the 20th century, the Matheson family owned and operated the largest coconut plantation in the United States. In 1940, they sold off over 800 acers to Dade County for a public park, known as Crandon Park. For over 50 years, no area had been incorporated as a municipality in Dade County, however, that all changed in 1991, with the incorporation of Key Biscayne.

The houses on Key Biscayne are breathtakingly beautiful. Prices for houses start at around $295,000, making this area great for families on a budget. The waterfront and non-front homes offer oversized lots, tropical backyards, and luxury amenities. Additionally, the island is home to Oceana Key Biscayne, a resort-style luxury condominium building.
