Venetian Islands’ residents can rejoice that Trader Joe’s is finally coming to Miami Beach, along with other high-end stores and boutiques at a new development close to home. The announcement of the new Trader Joe’s location was made by attorney Mickey Marrero from Becrow, Radell, Fernandez, and Larkin at the Miami Beach Design Review board meeting on February 6th, 2017. Having another grocery store and shopping area so close to the Venetian Islands is a wonderful addition for residents.
Location
Location plays an important role when opening a business, and this new project on the corner of 17th Street and West Avenue has a fabulous location situated close to the Venetian Islands, just off of the Venetian Causeway. The new development is known as 17 West. Trader Joe’s will occupy nearly 11,500 square feet of space in a five-story, mixed use development. The development will also house 28,142 square feet of additional retail space and 200 parking spots. The project is a joint venture between Elion Partners and Rock Soffer of Turnberry Associates, as well as members of the Sredni family.Opening Date
Venetian Islands’ residents can include Trader Joe’s to their shopping adventures to Fresh Market in Sunset Harbor; however, they will have to wait a little before they can do that. The project is slated to break ground later this month, and is said to open during the second half of 2018. The 17 West development will also have a residential component, which includes three-bedroom townhomes and one- to three-bedroom apartments.
